This week has been busy. But they all seem busy.
Enoch is all better. We are, for the present, done with the nebulizer. He is really enjoying school and wishes he went every day. My favorite Enoch quote of this week actually occurred a few weeks ago but has made me laugh all week. We were receiving a visit from someone we love whose pants are often saggy. Enoch said to him "We can always see your bum." He is in the toilet word stage for sure. He thinks it is hysterical to say those potty words. This week we went to visit Grandma and Grandpa Clegg. We arrived in the morning and Grandma was just stepping out of the shower as Enoch walked into her bathroom. He made a hasty retreat and said "I don't want to see her bum."
Arlene, who suffered a perforated ear drum this week, is having some hearing loss but is mostly better. The doc says she should be back to normal in a few weeks. She is also doing well in school. She gained a reputation last year, not the good kind. So her teacher tells me, with some surprise in her voice, that Arlene "was amazing" in class today. This affirms for me the choice to keep her in pre-school.
Mary is tearing it up in soccer. She is so fast and so aware of the ball. Her stride is beautiful and reminds me of her Uncle Mike's. She mixes it up with whole groups of people who are a head taller than she is. She is enjoying the crowd cheering for her. She needs all of that.
Miriam "broke-up" with her "boyfriend" this week (Joseph, a boy in her class whose twin is named Hyrum). The boy kept stepping on the back of her shoes and made them fall off. She got angry with him. He tried to write Miriam notes. Mary got involved as the note passer but indignant Miriam wouldn't read them. Miriam wept. I sighed, rolled my eyes...heavenward and prayed for wisdom and strength
Elena had a great week. She was awesome in piano and really enjoyed the pieces she was working on. She so wants to do 12-year-old things and we just won't let her.
Jared experienced intervention at school. Lakeridge Jr. High was voted the best Jr. High in the state largely because of Flex Time. It is like power recess. They have 30 minutes of FAB activities like rock climbing, movies, video games, other girlie things, etc. However, you only get to go play if all your grades are good. If they aren't good you have an intervention with the teacher in whose class you are struggling. I LOVE FLEX TIME! Jared loved it until this week but we expect he will love it again next week:)
I spent the week being: the nursemaid, teacher (in prep for starting all my classes/lessons this week), cook, shopper, soccer Mom, cleaner, and general nat. I am excited to say I have a singing gig in October. I am looking forward to it.
Doug spent the week doing lots of different small jobs. He is working on a t.v. set for Time Out for Women. Sheri Dew is to be the hostess. His Berlin show was aired on BYU-TV last night. The lighting and sound were awful, so you couldn't really see how cool the set was.
TTFN!
