The kids had all worked toward a trip to Lagoon. Jared earned his first class in scouts. The other five were part of a meningitis vaccine study and used their "blood money" to pay their way into Lagoon. It was a much funner trip than last year. This is the first time we haven't hauled along a big stroller or wagon. We came out to eat at the van and divided up by height (determines which rides you can go on) for different portions of the day. It was fun and exhausting. At the end of the day we were blessed to run into Steve and Blade Wilkinson (Ellis cousins). Blade is Jared's age and they ran around together for the rest of the night. Then Jared went home with them for a sleepover.
Hooray! Soccer season is adjourned until the springtime. Three practices and four games a week is a big deal. Doug has been working here and there on jobs for BYU and the Church. I attended a Master Class with Sherill Milnes, a hugely famous baritone who was a guest artist at BYU. I put up posters for my private studio around town. The economic downturns always mean a slow down for me.
Family Funny: Arlene was trying to explain to me which ride she wanted to go on. It was the "horse circly thing." Any guesses? The Carousel!
